Coming from a background of over 20 years of experience working for large companies (Computer Science Corporation, ICL) providing services to household names (John Menzies, Co-operative Wholesale Society, WH Smith), the founder of BackEdge decided that small companies were entitled to the same quality of product, service and loyalty as the big boys.

The key to providing this, at a cost that was not only bearable but attractive, was the adoption of open-source software and the internet. For many years the company network has been the backbone of the blue-chip's IT success, and the widespread availability of connections to the Internet gives this backbone to smaller companies for a very small investment.
